Muranaka Medical Instruments is a general trading company with a 110 year-long history that specializes in medical instruments. It handles approximately 300,000 items, including surgical instruments and a wide range of other medical products ranging from everyday medical supplies to leading-edge medical devices.
The Tokyo branch office relocation and new building construction project resulted in a seven-story building with a narrow vertical form. Four of those floors host office space and the remaining three contain space for interacting with visitors, meeting space, and a "refresh" space.
Each floor has its own theme color, which was used as a base for coordination of that floor's interior furnishing plan and elevator hall tapestry art.
An open ceiling is used for the first floor visitor entrance, and there is symbolic tapestry art featuring the floor's theme color displayed on the wall of each floor.
In the open-ceiling space, there is a staircase leading to the second floor, where there is leading-edge medical instrument showroom space that serves as a base of operation for Tokyo area sales activities.
