Okamura Corporation has received a Special Award in the Environmentally Sustainable Company category of the 4th ESG Finance Award Japan organized by the Ministry of the Environment, as a company that has made outstanding efforts considering its size and industry characteristics. 

Okamura Corporation will install solar power generation equipment based on the PPA model* at its Gotemba Plant, a production site in Shizuoka Prefecture, as part of ongoing efforts to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, and switch part of its electricity to renewable energy generated by solar power.
The installed facilities consist of 1152 solar panels with a total panel area of approximately 2,500 square meters and an annual power generation capacity of approximately 570 MWh, which will reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 250 tons per year.

The Okamura Group has set a CO2 emissions reduction target for FY2030 to be 50% of the FY2020 and is promoting initiatives to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. The Okamura Group is switching to renewable energy sources for electric power at its production sites and installing solar power generation facilities for in-house consumption.

From November 7 to 9, Okamura Grand Fair 2023 took place in our showroom in Akasaka, Tokyo. Many of our guests from around the world came to attend the show and experience new products in person.
