At Okamura NeoCon 2026, we are proud to present the global debut of new products born from the collaboration between Japanese craftsmanship and international creators. This exhibit reveals the craftsmanship behind their creation, alongside our philosophy and the traditional art of Ikebana. We invite you to experience our “To the last detail.” philosophy from every angle.
About MUKU
MUKU is a new chair born from a creative collaboration between Foster + Partners Industrial Design and Okamura. It is reduced to its essential elements – without compromising on comfort balancing visual and physical lightness with advanced performance. The visual simplicity and controlled geometry allow the design to adapt effortlessly to different contexts and user needs while maintaining a consistent identity.
Exhibition Contents
This installation offers an immersive experience of MUKU in an infinite landscape. A space with only a few chairs reveals a vast dimension as you peer into the mirrored walls, where the design repeats endlessly into the distance.
MUKU was developed through a highly collaborative, iterative design process, shaped by close discussion between Foster + Partners Industrial Design and Okamura. This area showcases the craftsmanship in every detail-from design philosophy and prototypes to its final structure and seating comfort.
From hidden precision in every component to functionality designed for user well-being, this area reveals the engineering behind Okamura’s signature comfort. Explore the individual parts of MUKU and other products, and experience the results of our craftsmanship firsthand.
Throughout the exhibit, Ikebana by Sogetsu-one of Japan’s leading styles-offers a delicate and opulent welcome. We hope these works provide a moment of peace during your hectic day at NeoCon.
