Specere Recognized as an Honoree in the Best of Year Awards 2024

Specere has been recognized as an Honoree in the “Contract Conference/Task Seating” category at the prestigious Best of Year Awards 2024, hosted by INTERIOR DESIGN magazine, one of North America’s leading publications specializing in interior design and architecture.
Now in its 19th year, the Best of Year Awards is an international design competition that celebrates the most innovative projects and products across various categories each year.
This recognition adds to Specere’s impressive list of accolades, including:

- Universal Design Award 2023 (Germany), honored with both “UNIVERSAL DESIGN EXPERT” and “UNIVERSAL CONSUMER” awards

Best of Year Awards: Okamura – Interior Design
The Specere is a universally designed office seating whose back and seat follow the body’s movements, allowing everyone to sit comfortably.
The reclining mechanism ‘Active move’ supports the worker naturally by realizing a movement that follows the body flexibly through the reclining function from a slightly forward leaning posture to a backward leaning posture and the bending function of the back and seat to the left and right. The clean, simple design with a thin, compact mechanism harmonizes with all kinds of spaces. The simple structure with a reduced number of parts realizes lightweight construction and reduces environmental impact.
