Okamura’s Gotemba Plant, a Production Site in Shizuoka Prefecture, Switches to Renewable Energy Generated by Solar Power

From February 2023, Okamura Corporation will install solar power generation equipment based on the PPA model* at its Gotemba Plant, a production site in Shizuoka Prefecture, as part of ongoing efforts to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, and switch part of its electricity to renewable energy generated by solar power.
The installed facilities consist of 1152 solar panels with a total panel area of approximately 2,500 square meters and an annual power generation capacity of approximately 570 MWh, which will reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 250 tons per year.
The Okamura Group has set a CO2 emissions reduction target for FY2 e030 to be 50% of the FY2020 and is promoting initiatives to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. The Okamura Group is switching to renewable energy sources for electric power at its production sites and installing solar power generation facilities for in-house consumption.
